Circe and the Sirens
Circe and the Sirens is a conceptual band themed around Greek mythology. Each member chooses a stage name from a mythological figure, and presents themselves around that.

Circe: a sorceress and daughter of Helios, the Sun god. She appears in the Odyssey, when Odysseus and his men visit her island, where she uses her magic to turn some of them into pigs.

Daphne: a naiad (water nymph) who becomes the unwilling object of infatuation by the god Apollo. Before Apollo can get to her, she pleads for her father, the river god Peneus, to save her and he turns her into a laurel tree.

Polyphemus: the cyclops son of Poseidon, the sea god. His name means "Abounding in songs and legends". He appears in the Odyssey when he captures Odysseus and his men, however due to his low intelligence he is tricked and they escape. In later iterations of his story Polyphemus is portrayed as a talented musician.

Medusa: one of the daughters of the titan Phorcys, she was a gorgon meaning she had wings and living snakes for hair. Anyone who looked into her eyes would turn to stone. She was famously beheaded by the Greek hero Perseus.
